It’s National Waffle Day!

Did you know the humble waffle has been around since ancient times? The Greeks first started using two metal pans over an open flame to make flat cakes called “Obelios”.  In the 14th century, waffles would be imprinted with coats of arms, religious symbols, and other images.  In 1869, the first waffle iron was patented in the US. Today,  variations of the waffle can be found around the world. From Brussels to Scandinavia and even Hong Kong and Vietnam!  Stop by and celebrate waffles all this weekend at the Crema Cafe.
